Thirty Three
I keep referring back to this video, not so much from the viewpoint of a guitarist or musician, but from that of a storyteller, craftsman, nomad, and it's like I'm watching it for the first time every time.
It's just one of those things that I can't really pinpoint or explain, but just makes me feel at home.

On Wednesday I went to see Fleetwood Mac perform at Staples Center.
I can't even put into words the tremendous feeling of seeing a band I grew up on, who's been part of my household for so many years, LIVE! I was truly on Cloud 9.
Stevie Nicks sang like an angel, draped in shimmering shawls, unchanged by time. Lindsay Buckingham, the most underrated guitar virtuoso in the world, blew everyone away with his unconventional yet brilliant fingerpicking style and powerhouse vocals. Mick Fleetwood, the spidery mad hatter at his best, was on fire, and had the audience on their feet with his earth-shattering drum solos! And, of course, John McVie, wearing a white messenger cap and looking like he just stumbled out of a jazz club, could be seen slapping the bass in the shadowed corners of the stage. Just hearing him do his iconic solo in "The Chain" gave me goosebumps!
I was sitting too far up to capture a good photo of the stage, so this is it:

Thanks to RookieMag, I discovered a gem of a band today called Rose Windows.
The singer, Rabia, has such a powerful and otherworldly sound. I am completely smitten by her voice. I was so mind blown when I first heard them, that had to watch their new music video about 5 times just to soak it all in.
I love discovering good music these days… It's surprisingly not too rare to find if you take the time to look for it.
Check out the Rookie interview HERE.

Yesterday I watched a show about Simon & Garfunkel on VH1 Classics, which inspired me to go back and listen to all of their albums. None of their albums are uploaded on YouTube, but if you own a copy, I would definitely recommend you take a moment to re-listen!
